Over 270 African-American High School students will participate in this year's Central Valley re


Fresno, CA --With the help of community sponsors and support, the San Joaquin Valley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has expanded the African American High School Recognition Ceremony to the Save Mart Center for a second year since the number of participants and their family members swelled over to 1,000 people.

This year's 24th annual African American High School Recognition Ceremony at the Save Mart Center, June 4th at 3:00 PM will consist of over 270 African-American graduating students.

"The purpose of this program is to acknowledge graduating seniors who have reached this noteworthy milestone, and who might not otherwise be recognized individually.," explained in a statement by the The San Joaquin Valley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. "A Kente cloth and a certificate will be provided to each student who participates in the ceremony."

Community supporters and partnering organizations provide various awards and scholarships to outstanding students; in fact, students with a GPA of 3.50 and above will receive an honor cord.

This event is free and open to the public:
