City launches new, expanded permitting and planning counter hours

FRESNO, CA – Mayor Lee Brand and Jennifer Clark, Director of Development and Resource Management (DARM) for the City of Fresno announced the launch of new, expanded counter hours for its permitting and planning services at City Hall, effective immediately.

The new hours, which extend service from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in addition to lunch hour service from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, is aimed at enhancing convenience and improving turnaround times for commercial and residential customers.

“This is another strong step forward toward my goal of making Fresno the most business-friendly city in California,” said Mayor Brand. “We’re continually working to find ways to make it easier to do business at City Hall and I’m proud of the continued effort to improve and innovate City services.”

The expanded counter hours are another benefit of the Mayor’s Business Friendly Fresno 2.0! initiative and build upon the announcement earlier this year introducing Fresno’s Accelerated Applications System to Track Electronic Reviews (FAASTER), an online customer service portal that has dramatically improved the permitting and planning process at City Hall by allowing anyone who applies for a building permit with the City of Fresno to submit, pay for, and track the status of their permit application online, 24 hours a day.

Ms. Clark added, “Our goal is to create a responsive and accessible relationship with anyone choosing to do business with the City of Fresno. The expanded hours meet the growing demands of our business community and help us better serve the needs of our busy customers.”
