City of Fresno approves FAX Pilot Program to serve Inspiration Park

FRESNO, CA – The City of Fresno officials announced a Fresno Area Express (FAX) six-week pilot project to serve Inspiration Park via westbound Route 9. Service will be provided July 2, through August 10, 2018. As a result of collaboration with the Administration, Council President Esmeralda Soria, community groups and service organizations, FAX analyzed existing service in the corridor and developed a strategy to provide service to Inspiration Park and the surrounding area through the summer months. The service will operate Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) every 30 minutes from 6:24 a.m. until 6:03 p.m.

“This project reflects the City of Fresno’s commitment to providing opportunities for connectivity to those of all abilities throughout the FAX service area for recreation, social interaction, employment, and education,” said Jim Schaad, Director of Transportation.

Inspiration Park is a fully accessible park owned by the City of Fresno and is located at 5770 W. Gettysburg Avenue in Fresno on Gettysburg between Hayes and Polk Avenues. The park features a community center, splash pad, accessible play equipment, all-weather turf for basketball and baseball, and a grass play area.
