FRESNO, CA— Valley Black Talk Radio, which airs on the ONME Network weekly on Thursdays and Sundays from 6:00 PM -8:00 PM has a line-up of guest hosts in the stead of regular host, Jewell Riversmith, who is to return some time in late January, 2017.
With the direct commentary relative to news from an African-American perspective, it would be hard to fill in the shoes of Riversmith whose constant flood of up-to-date news knowledge seems to flow effortlessly on every show -- luckily guest host and community leader Barigye McCoy, can bridge the gap through his varied background in politics, African-American history and economics.
McCoy, a Fresno, CA native, is active in community projects and organizations locally and statewide as: Vice-President of the African American Farmers Association; African-American Museum Kwanzaa Committee Leadership Liaison; EOC Commissioner, serving the EOC Finance and Audit Committees; SEIU Unit 12 Senior Shop Steward; District 3 Planning Implementation Committee member; Central Labor Council member; Assembly District 23 Delegate; and County of Fresno Health Benefits Advisory Committee member.
In 2013 McCoy was chosen as the first African-American--and only thus far--to represent Fresno, CA to be a part of the Congressional Black Caucus Political Institution out of over 50,000 applicants.
Due to the Xmas holiday on Sunday, Dec. 25th and local Kwanzaa events, the VBTalk Radio Team will resume on Sunday, Jan 1st: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
Watch McCoy's first guest host appearance on Valley Black Talk Radio this past Sunday with hosts Mel Sanders and Julia Dudley Najieb.
