By ONME Newswire

On, October 23, 2023, Aaron Moton (25, of Fresno) was sentenced to 25 years to life in state prison for the murder of a toddler. Today’s sentence was handed down by the Honorable Jonathan Conklin in Department 72 of the Fresno Superior Court after a Fresno County jury found Moton guilty following a weeks-long trial that concluded on September 8, 2023.

On October 5, 2021, the Fresno Police Department received a 911 call from the child’s mother that her child was non-responsive and unable to keep his eyes open. The child was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center where, despite life saving measures being performed, he succumbed to his injuries. The child’s death was ruled a homicide due to the nature of the injuries.

The evidence presented at trial revealed that the child had suffered extreme force abdominal trauma causing the child’s liver to be split into two pieces and causing a ruptured vertebrae.

The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office would like to thank the Fresno Police Department for their investigative work and dedication to this case.

This case was successfully prosecuted by Senior Deputy District Attorney Amy Cobb of our
